CinEast 2021

14th Central and Eastern European Film Festival Luxembourg
7-24 October 2021

The 14th edition of CinEast the Central and Eastern European Film Festival in Luxembourg, presents a wide selection of some of the best recent films produced in more than 20 countries of the former Eastern Bloc. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, CinEast will again take the “hybrid festival”that will combine regular screenings in cinemas with screenings available online.

This will compensate for the reduced capacities of physical venues and offer the possibility, especially to vulnerable groups, to watch a selection of films at home.

The festival programme also features the extensive photo exhibition Dreams of Escape à neimënster liée au thème du festival, qui est « Dreams of Escape .

Naturmusée- Lost Ocean
A fossil dive into the sea of monsters
8 octobre 2021 – 29 mai 2022

When palaeontological research and digital technologies join forces, a fossil exhibition turns into an ancient ocean teeming with extinct creatures. Explore the local fossil treasures from a brand new perspective and immerse yourself into the world of Jurassic sea monsters.

We can reconstruct the world of 183 million years ago so accurately that we can practically immerse ourselves in it. Our knowledge about the appearance of animals and their behaviour, about the climate at that time, even the colour of the sand on the beach is based on tangible research. The National Museum of Natural History is also actively carrying out research in the field. Discover our pop-up laboratory and the current research work here in the exhibition. You might even meet a palaeontologist at work!
